An AP story buried in the back pages of my local rag (The Herald Republican) sports the headline "GOVERNMENT SAYS IT MADE IMPROPER FARM PAYMENTS". So you ask, what does that have to do with the headline of mine about medicine?
I posted a reponse on Mike Sylvesters blog the other day about our healthcare "system" and the astronomical costs associated with it. I raised the possibility that if we were able to stop all the bridges to nowhere and all the other government spending on stupid shit, we could probably afford to pay the health insurance premiums for all the uninsured.
The AP story also ran online at the Guardian which is available by clicking above so you can reference it. The agriculture department admits it sent & spent (wasted, if you will) 2.8 BILLION DOLLARS.
That's billion with a B....Now the agriculture dept. is just one agency out of thousands in our government structure, so can you imagine how many other billions (with a b) are just flat out wasted? My guess is GAZILLIONS..............................
We probably wouldn't ever need to raise taxes again....EVER....if we just wouldn't spend billions of dollars on stupid shit, but that'll never happen as long as we keep electing the same old same old........no matter what political affiliation you support, lets all agree they need to sign a pledge that says simply "I promise I won't spend YOUR money on more stupid shit." There should be no liberal or conservative disagreement anymore when it comes to wasting money on stupid shit......
I really hate stupid shit
really

Indiana ranks 49th in 2006 for not bringing home the bacon. That’s refreshing to know.

Congressional Oversight
Two of MANY things I will be holding the new Democratic party accountable for. The Republican party REFUSED to address these critical issues and I think the American people deserve better - we'll see if they get their wish...
Virtually anyone can be a Democrat. Just simply quit thinking and vote that way.
But if you want to be a good Democrat, there are some prerequisites you must meet.
Compare the below and see how you rate.
You have to believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding Americans are more of a threat than U.S. nuclear weapons technology in the hands of Islam fascists.
You have to believe that there was no art before Federal funding.
You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by cyclical, documented changes in the earth's climate, and more affected by driving SUVs.
You have to believe that businesses create oppression and governments create prosperity.
You have to believe that self-esteem is more important than actually doing something to earn it.
You have to believe the NRA is bad because it supports certain parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good because it undermines most parts of the Constitution.
You have to believe that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too high.
You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked anywhere is because the right people haven't been in charge.
Jeff, I could go on, but you get my point.
I believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding Americans are a constitutionally guaranteed right that is unquestionable.
I believe that Federal funding for the arts is important and necessary.
I KNOW that global temperatures are more affected by mankind than cyclical, documented changes in the earth's climate, and science backs this up.
I believe that businesses create oppression when they control the government via lobbying.
I believe in "paying your own way", but government should provide a safety net to help you back up if at first you fail.
I believe that both the NRA and the ACLU have their good and bad points.
I believe that taxes are often unfairly placed, and ATM fees are ALWAYS too high.
I believe that socialism is natural and caring; yet it's often confused with communism, which is entirely different. If you attend church and/or contibute time/money/etc to your community. . .you are a socialist.

Love the points you make.
God Bless 'ya...you're a better moderate than even *I* am...lol!
